Cerita tersebut bisa bersifat fiktif atau imajinatif, seperti dongeng, legenda, mitos, atau cerita nyata yang dimodifikasi, seperti biografi, sejarah, atau kisah inspiratif.\u00a0Tujuan dari narrative text adalah untuk menghibur atau menginformasikan pembaca dengan cara menyajikan sebuah rangkaian peristiwa yang koheren dan menarik<sup>1<\/sup><sup>2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Struktur_Narrative_Text\"><\/span>Struktur Narrative Text<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Narrative text memiliki struktur sebagai berikut:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Orientation: Bagian pembuka yang memperkenalkan tokoh, latar tempat, waktu, dan suasana cerita.<\/li>\n<li>Complication: Bagian yang berisi konflik atau masalah yang dihadapi oleh tokoh dalam cerita. Complication terdiri dari tiga bagian, yaitu rising action (masalah mulai muncul), climax (titik klimaks atau puncak masalah), dan falling action (masalah mulai menuju penyelesaian).<\/li>\n<li>Resolution: Bagian yang menunjukkan penyelesaian dari masalah yang ada. Resolution bisa bersifat happy ending atau sad ending.<\/li>\n<li>Coda\/Reorientation (opsional): Bagian yang memberikan pesan moral atau pelajaran dari cerita.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ciri-Ciri_Bahasa_Narrative_Text\"><\/span>Ciri-Ciri Bahasa Narrative Text<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Narrative text menggunakan ciri-ciri bahasa sebagai berikut:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Past tense (menggunakan kata kerja bentuk lampau, seperti lived, went, saw, dll.)<\/li>\n<li>Adverb of time (menggunakan kata keterangan waktu, seperti once upon a time, one day, long ago, dll.)<\/li>\n<li>Time conjunction (menggunakan kata sambung waktu, seperti when, then, suddenly, dll.)<\/li>\n<li>Specific character (menggunakan tokoh yang spesifik dan bukan umum, seperti Cinderella, Snow White, Alibaba, dll.)<\/li>\n<li>Action verbs (menggunakan kata kerja yang menunjukkan aksi, seperti killed, dug, walked, dll.)<\/li>\n<li>Direct speech (menggunakan kalimat langsung untuk membuat cerita lebih hidup, seperti Snow White said, \u201cMy name is Snow White\u201d). Kalimat langsung menggunakan present tense.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Jenis-Jenis_Narrative_Text\"><\/span>Jenis-Jenis Narrative Text<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Narrative text terdiri dari beberapa jenis, antara lain:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fable: Cerita binatang yang mengandung pesan moral.<\/li>\n<li>Folktales: Cerita rakyat yang berasal dari suatu daerah atau negara.<\/li>\n<li>Fairy tales: Cerita dongeng yang melibatkan tokoh-tokoh fantasi seperti peri, penyihir, raksasa, dll.<\/li>\n<li>Myth: Cerita tentang dewa-dewi atau makhluk mitologi yang menjelaskan asal-usul alam semesta atau fenomena alam.<\/li>\n<li>Legend: Cerita tentang tokoh-tokoh heroik atau bersejarah yang memiliki unsur magis atau supernatural.<\/li>\n<li>Mystery: Cerita tentang penyelidikan suatu kasus atau kejadian misterius.<\/li>\n<li>Horror: Cerita tentang hal-hal menakutkan atau menyeramkan yang melibatkan hantu, setan, vampir, dll.<\/li>\n<li>Science fiction: Cerita tentang dunia masa depan yang melibatkan teknologi canggih atau makhluk luar angkasa.<\/li>\n<li>Romance: Cerita tentang percintaan antara dua orang atau lebih.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Contoh\"><\/span>Contoh<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Ant_and_the_Grasshopper\"><\/span>The Ant and the Grasshopper<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Orientation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a field one summer\u2019s day a grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart\u2019s content. An ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Complication<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy not come and chat with me,\u201d said the grasshopper, \u201cinstead of toiling and moiling in that way?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am helping to lay up food for the winter,\u201d said the ant, \u201cand recommend you to do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy bother about winter?\u201d said the grasshopper; \u201cwe have got plenty of food at present.\u201d But the ant went on its way and continued its toil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resolution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When the winter came the grasshopper had no food and found itself dying of hunger, while it saw the ants distributing every day corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer.
