Adjective biasanya ditempatkan setelah kata benda. Adjective digunakan untuk menerangkan noun atau pronoun yang dapat berupa orang, tempat, hewan, benda atau konsep abstrak. Kata sifat bahasa Inggris ini merupakan satu dari delapan part of speech.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Jenis-Jenis_Adjective\"><\/span>Jenis-Jenis Adjective<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Ada beberapa jenis adjective yang dapat dibedakan berdasarkan fungsi dan bentuknya. Berikut adalah beberapa jenis adjective yang umum digunakan dalam bahasa Inggris:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Descriptive Adjective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Descriptive adjective adalah adjective yang menggambarkan sifat atau kualitas dari noun atau pronoun. Descriptive adjective dapat berupa warna, ukuran, bentuk, rasa, bau, suhu, emosi, dan lain-lain. Contoh descriptive adjective dalam kalimat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; She has a beautiful voice. (Dia memiliki suara yang indah.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; He bought a red car. (Dia membeli mobil merah.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The cake was delicious. (Kuenya lezat.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The room is cold. (Ruangan itu dingin.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Possessive Adjective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Possessive adjective adalah adjective yang menunjukkan kepemilikan atau hubungan dari noun atau pronoun dengan orang atau benda lain. Possessive adjective dapat berupa my, your, his, her, its, our, dan their. Contoh possessive adjective dalam kalimat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; This is my book. (Ini buku saya.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; She loves her dog. (Dia mencintai anjingnya.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; They are our friends. (Mereka adalah teman-teman kami.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; It&#8217;s their house. (Itu rumah mereka.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Demonstrative Adjective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Demonstrative adjective adalah adjective yang menunjukkan lokasi atau posisi dari noun atau pronoun. Demonstrative adjective dapat berupa this, that, these, dan those. Contoh demonstrative adjective dalam kalimat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; This shirt is too small for me. (Kemeja ini terlalu kecil untuk saya.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; I like that movie. (Saya suka film itu.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Do you want these apples? (Apakah kamu mau apel-apel ini?)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Those shoes are very expensive. (Sepatu-sepatu itu sangat mahal.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quantitative Adjective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Quantitative adjective adalah adjective yang menunjukkan jumlah atau kuantitas dari noun atau pronoun. Quantitative adjective dapat berupa angka, bilangan ordinal, bilangan pecahan, persentase, dan kata-kata seperti some, any, many, few, several, dan lain-lain. Contoh quantitative adjective dalam kalimat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; She has three cats. (Dia memiliki tiga kucing.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; He is the first person to arrive. (Dia adalah orang pertama yang datang.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; They ate half of the pizza. (Mereka memakan setengah dari pizza itu.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; He got 90% on the test. (Dia mendapatkan 90% pada tes itu.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; I need some water. (Saya butuh air.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; There are many people in the park. (Ada banyak orang di taman.)<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fungsi_Adjective\"><\/span>Fungsi Adjective<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Adjective memiliki beberapa fungsi dalam sebuah kalimat, antara lain:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Subjective Complement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Subjective complement adalah adjective yang berada setelah linking verb dan menerangkan subjek. Linking verb adalah kata kerja yang menghubungkan subjek dengan predikat tanpa menunjukkan aksi. Linking verb dapat berupa is, am, are, was, were, be, being, been, dan lain-lain. Contoh subjective complement dalam kalimat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Her face is clean. (Wajahnya bersih.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; He is intelligent. (Dia cerdas.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; They were happy. (Mereka bahagia.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objective Complement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Objective complement adalah adjective yang berada setelah objek dan menerangkan objek. Objek adalah kata benda atau kata ganti yang menerima aksi dari kata kerja. Contoh objective complement dalam kalimat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; I found the guard sleeping. (Saya menemukan penjaga itu tidur.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; She painted the wall blue. (Dia mengecat dinding itu biru.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; He made her angry. (Dia membuatnya marah.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Modifier of the Noun Phrase<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Modifier of the noun phrase adalah adjective yang berada di depan noun dan menerangkan noun. Noun phrase adalah kumpulan kata yang berfungsi sebagai noun. Contoh modifier of the noun phrase dalam kalimat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; A big round shiny apple. (Sebuah apel besar bulat mengkilap.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The old wooden table. (Meja kayu tua itu.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; My best friend. (Teman baik saya.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Head of Adjective Phrase<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Head of adjective phrase adalah adjective yang menjadi inti dari adjective phrase. Adjective phrase adalah kumpulan kata yang berfungsi sebagai adjective. Contoh head of adjective phrase dalam kalimat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; He is extremely bad at math. (Dia sangat buruk dalam matematika.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; She has a very beautiful voice. (Dia memiliki suara yang sangat indah.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The cake was too sweet for me. (Kuenya terlalu manis untuk saya.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comparison Degrees<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Comparison degrees adalah adjective yang digunakan untuk membandingkan dua atau lebih noun atau pronoun. Ada tiga jenis comparison degrees, yaitu positive degree, comparative degree, dan superlative degree. Contoh comparison degrees dalam kalimat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; I&#8217;m as tall as him. (Saya setinggi dia.) -&gt; positive degree<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; She is taller than me. (Dia lebih tinggi daripada saya.) -&gt; comparative degree<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; He is the tallest person in the class.
